Biography

George was born in 1815. George Bruch ... He passed away about 1875. ^[1]

<George played violin in Leipzig, either at the Conservatory or the Gewandhaus. He sailed to Philadelphia from Bremen in 1868 with his son Otto. His wife Amalie and other children joined him in Memphis in 1869. He died in Memphis six or seven years later in the yellow fever epidemic. He taught music. His son George, Jr., later taught at Southwestern (now Rhodes College) in Memphis.>
