John George Brunjes was born about 1898, at 69 Hancock Avenue, Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey, to Martin Brunjes and Johanna [unknown].[1]
Although their personal names don't match, his parents may be the John M Brunjes and Lizzie Brunjes who were living at 358 Central Avenue, Jersey City, in 1900. They were living with their children Dora, Martin, Henry, and Robert. First, no other Martin Brunjes seems to be included in the 1900 census.[2]
Second, they are not listed in the families living at 69 Hancock Avenue.
[3]
Finally, their address is only a few blocks from 69 Hancock Avenue, and Lizzie reportedly had had five children, one of whom had died, who could be John George.
[4] Further research is necessary.
John Brunjes died young.
On 18 July 1899, he died, at 69 Hancock Avenue, Jersey City, of gastroenteritis.
The cemetery where he was buried is unfortunately illegible on his death certificate, but looks like 'malfillde'.
