Robert Buchan was born on 18 May 1887 at Comaum near Penola in South Australia, son of Archibald Buchan (1851-1932) and Margaret (Kelly) Buchan (1848-1925). ^[1]

WA Marriage Reg 205: 1915, Clarice B. Naylor, District of Fremantle, Robert's name: Robert G. Buchan. [Not sure if this Robert is the son of Archibald & Margaret (Kelly) Buchan. Clarice Bertha Buchan died in 1969, age 75, District of Swan. Her parents, father George E. (Naylor), Mother Mary A. (Naylor), WA Death Reg 121]

Death Notice Text: http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/81772474 Mr. A. Buchan, of Penola, South Australia, has received word that his youngest son, Private Robert Buchan, of the 44th Battalion, has been killed in action, on the 29th of September, 1918.
