Private Lowell Harry Bert Buffington died in service in World War II.
Private Buffington, a son of Laura Ethel Mixer Buffington and the late William Cornelius Buffington, was born near Kingston, Adams County, IL.
He attended Barry High school and was employed by the Wabash Railroad before entering military service, Dec. 3, 1942. He served in the 719 RY OPR BN TC during WORLD WAR II. He Received his basic training at Scott field and arrived in the North African war zone in March, 1943.
Private Buffington died of wounds received in action June 20, 1943, in Tunisia.
Buried in Mound Prairie Cemetery, Beverly Township, Adams County, Illinois.
