Biography
Zelpha Risher Burdge was born about 1796.[1] She was the daughter of Michael Burdge and Hannah Risher. [1]
Zilpha married Jonathan Hurd in 1813.[1] They had several children.[2] By 1850, the family had moved to Whitley County, Indiana from New York, where the children were born.[2] In the 1860 census, Zilpha is living with her son David Hurd and his young family.[3]
Zilpha died on September 2, 1863 and is buried in Eel River Presbyterian Cemetery, Coesse (Whitley County), Indiana.[4]
Notes
- The FindAGrave memorial has Zilpha as the daughter of Jonathan Burdge who died in Cincinnati. This is most likely incorrect.[4]
