Biography

Florrie (Burrows) Mayes was born in Lancashire, England.

Florrie Burrows was born in 1888 in Manchester, Lancashire. ^[1] She was the daughter of Robert Burrows & Fanny Burrows, and was baptised on 18 April 1888 at the Albert Memorial Church, Collyhurst, Manchester. ^[2] The family were living at 19 Regent Street, and her father was a Policeman. ^[3]

Florrie was living with her parents and siblings in Manchester In 1891 ^[4] and 1901. ^[5]

On 22 December 1906 Flora (age 18), daughter of Robert Burrows, married William Henry Mayes at Albert Memorial Church, Collyhurst, Manchester, ^[6] and in 1911 they were living in Rotherham, Yorkshire. ^[7]

In 1921 they were living in Etruria Street, Garston, near Liverpool. Flora 33, worked as a Clothing Machinist, and William was a Railway Wagon Builder, ^[8] and in 1939 they were back in Manchester, Ardwick. They had at least one child before this time. ^[9]

Flora died on 19 May 1949 age 61, and was buried at Philips Park Cemetery, Miles Platting, Manchester, with a burial date of 24 May 1949.^{[10] [11] [12]}
