Biography

Henry Butson was born in Cornwall, England.

Henry was born on 26 June 1831 and baptized on 26 June 1831 in St Blazey, Cornwall, the son of Solomon Butson[1] and Jane Keam. Their family lived in Whitby, Canada West (Ontario) where, in 1851, his father was a farmer and he and his brothers worked as labourers.[2]

He married Sarah about 1852.[3] They had four daughters:

Their family lived and farmed in Ops, Victoria, Canada West (Ontario).[3]

He married Mary (Wilson) Irwin on 3 Jan 1868.[7] They had six sons:

Their blended family lived in Verulam, Victoria, Ontario.[19]

By 1881, they were living in Bobcaygeon, Victoria, Ontario where Henry worked as a labourer.[20]

He passed away after 1881.
