Helena was born in about 1849. She was the daughter of Reverend Christopher Butson and Helena Maunsell.

Sadly she died in 1863 at the age of 14.

Dublin Evening Mail March 18, 1863, Page 1:
DEATHS.
Butson—March 14, Helena Esther Gould Butson, aged 14 years, only daughter of the Ven. the Archdeacon of Clonfert, suddenly, after a few hours' illness, at St. Brendon's, Clonfert.[1]
