Percy Capel is an Anzac who served in World War One.
Percy Capel was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)
Percy was born in 1982, son of Charles Capel and Fanny W Lowe. [1]
On 23 November 1916 Percy Capel, single Station manager aged 33, born at Gonan, Burren Junction, New South Wales, Church of England, enlisted as a Private with the Machine Gun Company 2, Reinforcement 11, Regimental number 635. Next of kin - Mother, Mrs F W Capel, Gonan, Burren Junction, New South Wales. Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A9 Shropshire on 11 May 1917. He served with the 1st Machine Gun Battalion and returned to Australia 13 July 1919. [2]
Percy Capel married Adeline C Taylor in 1920 in Moree, New South Wales. [3]
He passed away in 1967 and buried at the Narrabri Old General Cemetery.[4]
