Biography

Abraham was born about 1785. Abraham married Isabella Brooks on 5 July 1809 in Bethnal Green. They had2 sons and a daughter together before she died in 1814.

Abraham married Grace Brooks on 10 October 1815 in St Mary Le Strand, Westminster, Westminster, England. According to Church law at that time, that marriage was classified as incest because Grace was his sister-in-law, but actually it happened pretty frequently at that time. As long as the couple had their second marriage in a different parish where they would not be known, then they were safe. ^[1]

He had 5 sons & 5 daughters, & set up each of his sons in their own bakers shop except the first, Richard, who only lived until he was 19yrs old. His daughters all worked in the shops until they married.
