William Oscar Chalk of Farmington was born October 8, 1883, near Metropolis, Ill., a son of Arthur B. Chalk and Emily Jane Harmon Chalk, and died January 3 at Farmington Community Hospital at the age of 87.
October 18, 1907, he was married to Meta Bell Wood, and to this union three children were born. Mrs. Chalk died in April 1914, and one child died in infancy.
He was a member of Farmington First Baptist Church. He was a retired railroad worker, having been employed by Missouri Pacific Railroad for 50 years. He was a member of the following organizations for more than 50 years: Order of Eastern Star; Masonic Lodge 132 AF and AM; and Odd Fellow Lodge.
Chapel service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Odd Fellow Cemetery.
There will be a Masonic Service at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The body is in state at Cozean Chapel in Farmington.
