Biography

Robert was born in 1888. He was the son of Jesse Cheatham and Annie Lefler. He passed away in 1922.[1]

Sheet 8A of the census shows Annie B Cheatham, widow (42) as the head of the home living with her children Norah (23), Richard (17) and Morgan (12). Annie reports that 6 of her 7 children are still living. All report they and their parents were born in Kentucky. Annie is a farmer. [2]

1908 - Kentucky, Washington County
Morgan Cheatham and Mirtie Burns were marred on 29 Jan 1908. [3]

1910 - Kentucky, Washington County, District 6, District 152, 20 Apr 1910
Sheet 2B of the census shows Robert M Cheatham (22), wife Myrtie (19) and son JD (2 mos.) living in the home on dirt road 122. The couple has been married for 2 years and one of their two children is still living. All report they and their parents were born in Kentucky. Robert is a general farmer. The farm is owned with a mortgage. [4]

1917 - Kentucky, Washington County, Springfield
Morgan Cheatham, born 18 Jan 1888 in Washington County, was 29 when he completed his WWI Draft Registration Card. He is a farmer. He reports he is married with four children under the age of 12. He is reported to be tall and stout with grey eyes, bald and had dark hair. [5]

1920 - Kentucky, Washington County, Springfield, District 163, 24 Jan 1920
Sheet 9A of the census shows Morgan Cheatham (30), wife Myrtle (30) and children JD (10), Annie M (7), Mabel (6), Margaret H (4) and Morgan V (1) living in the home on Bardstown Road. The farm is rented. All report they and their parents were born in Kentucky. Morgan is a general farmer. [6]

1922 - Kentucky, Washington County, Springfield
Morgan Cheatham and his nephew Raymond Wilkerson were instantly killed and the son of Mr. Cheatham seriously injured when lightning struck a barn on the Cheatham farm near this city last Friday during an electrical storm. [7]
