Biography
Arthur was born 31 March 1915, registered at Gore, Southland. [1] He was the son of William George Cleaver and Mary May Buttolph. [2]
In April 1931 he was arrested for breaking and entering; on the same day, brother Bill was arrested for fighting. Arthur was described as 5'6", sallow, fair hair, brown eyes, medium build, large mouth. He was referred to a Child Welfare Officer. [3]
In 1944 he became engaged to Jocelyn May Hooper, only daughter of Mr & Mrs W. Hooper, Karori. [4] They would marry in 1946. [5]
He passed away in 1991. [6]
