Charles Vincent was born in 1863 to Thomas B and Amelia M. C. Shipley Cockey. He was the second of four children. Thomas was a farmer. Amelia, his mother, passed away when he was young.
By 1880, his father remarried and had 2 more children. And 17 year old Charles worked with his father on the farm.
Charles married Mary Louisa Baublitz (1867-1917) in Feb 1887; they had 16 children; 14 survived.
Cockey was a prominent and common name in the Baltimore area, as evidenced by the town of Cockeysville in Baltimore County. But this branch, with Charles Vincent, Mary Louisa and children, lived a hard life. For instance, in 1900, Charles and his two oldest children - Dora (12 yrs) and Sadie (10 yrs) worked in a cotton mill.
Widowed Charles married divorced Florence M. Reagle, nee. Boring (1861-1935) around 1926.
He passed away in 1934.
