Biography

Alexander was born in 1832, the son of James Washington Cockrum and Sarah J. Barrett. [1]

He married Violet Jane Bryant [2] and they had four children. [3]

Alexander served in Company D of the 58th Indiana Infantry Regiment (Union), [4] the same regiment in which Violet's brother David served.

Alexander passed away in Feb 1863 [5] at the same Murphreesboro, Tennessee camp where David would die four months later in Jun 1863.
