Biography

Susan Diane Connors was born on May 20, 1960 in Lafayette, Indiana. She was the daughter of of Richard Connors and Ruth Tennison. As a child, she lived in Indiana, Florida, Alabama, Texas, and Ireland. She earned her B.A. in Accounting at the University of Texas- San Antonio. She earned a MBA at Frederick Community College in Frederick, Maryland. She also became a Certified Public Accountant.

Susan joined the U.S. Navy as an officer and lived in Puerto Rico and San Diego, California. She later worked in Civil Service as an accountant and auditor for the following agencies: U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, and Customs and Boarder Control. She adopted many different pets and loved them as her children. She volunteered her time rescuing animals. Susan never married. She died on March 4, 2019 in Lakeway, Texas.

Susan Diane Connors, beloved sister and aunt, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 in Lakeway, Texas. She had been suffering from the effects of metastatic breast cancer for several years and is now in the loving and healing arms of the Lord.

Susan was born on May 20, 1960 in Lafayette, Indiana to Richard and Ruth (Tennison) Connors. She attended Bandera High School, graduating in 1978. Afterwards, she attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating with a B.A. in Accounting. She later obtained her MBA and became a Certified Public Accountant. In 1994, she became an officer in the Navy and lived and worked in California and Puerto Rico. After leaving the Navy, she worked for the Army, Coast Guard, and Customs and Border Control and received multiple accommodations for her exceptional service.

Susan was passionate about helping animals. She personally rescued all her pets, either as strays or injured along the highway and valued them as part of her family. Susan also enjoyed planning her travel adventures. She especially cherished her trips to Alaska, Hawaii, and Montana. Susan loved spending time with her family and showering her nieces and nephews with unconditional love.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind her sister, Krista Connors James (husband Bill James) and her brother, Joe Connors (wife Leilani Manchaca Connors). She also leaves five nieces and nephews: Donn James, Erin James, Clare James, Cade Connors, and Paige Connors.

A private memorial service will be held to honor Susan’s life. She will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, at the grave site of her loving parents.
