Peter was born in 1870, the son of Michael Copps and Elizabeth Manion.

Birth

Peter's older sister Elizabeth signed a Delayed Statement of Birth for Peter in 1930. Peter Martin was born on June 30, 1870 in Buchanan Township, Renfrew County, Ontario. He was the son of Michael Copps and Elizabeth Manion. Peter's sister declared that, I am a older sister being seven years senior and was in the house at the time of birth but was too young to have a recollection of the occurrence. However I remember seeing my mother sick in bed with a young infant with whom I grew up and always recognized as my brother and it was family knowledge that he was born on the date appearing above.

Peter Copps, 24, residing and born in Chalk River, bachelor, laborer, son of Michael Copps and Ellen Manion, married

Mary Gertrude Kottman, 17, residing in Chalk River, born in Germany, spinster, daughter of Theodore Kottman and Wilhelma Luxenberg,

On September 19, 1894, in Pembroke, Ontario.
