Her surname is transcribed as Cornell, Connell and O'Connell on different documents. She was a Roman Catholic. Her husband is reported in the newspaper to have deserted her in 1877 with his eldest son who was 10 years old.

The funeral notice for Ellen does not read like she had been deserted by Henry Francis , so did he return to her and moved to Eurora after her death?
