In 1747 he was recorded in Cornwall, Litchfield Co.,CT, as the father of Elijah, born there in May. He fought in the French and Indian War of 1757, listed as from Cornwall. He served in Capt. John Jeffrey's 9th co., Lyman's 3rd reg.
