Lalonde-1686 and Daost-1 appear to represent the same person because: Clovis Lalonde aka Antoine Clovis Daoust are the same individuals. Clovis was adopted by Joseph Lalonde when he married Emilie Valade when Clovis was 5 -7 yrs old. Based on current sources and resources we speculate that his father was Antoine Daoust, who Emilie and Clovis are listed in a census with. Clovis/Antoine married Nathalie Quesnel and had children including Joseph Eldage Lalonde.

I currently do not believe that Clovis Lalonde is Anitone Doust at all.

Clovis is my great-grandfather. My Ancestry.com dna test shows expected matches for descendants of several of Joseph Lalonde’s other children. If Clovis was adopted, this would not be the case. DNA seems to support the fact that Clovis was simply just born before Joseph and Emele were married.

Looking forward to other’s thoughts…THANKS!

… note: even Joseph C. Lalonde’s father, Joseph Lalonde (Sr.) has several descendants from his other children who show as dna matches for me. I do realize that many families mixed quite a bit so it is entirely possible that some of these dna matches can be from a Lalonde descendant that married someone from one of my other dna match lines. Only Y-DNA (father-son) or mt-DNA (mother-daughter) can prove 100%, and I’m not on Joseph’s father-son line… (I’m from one of Clovis’s daughter’s lines).
