Biography
Jonathan was born in 1742. He passed away in 1819.
Jonathan married Dorothy Fales at Bristol on 17 October 1771. Children:

- Elizabeth Fales b. 20 February 1774
- Jonathan b. 16 September 1775
- Benjamin b. ca. 1777

The will of Jonathan Diman of Bristol, yeoman, is dated 30 May 1817 and was proved 3 May 1819.[1] Legacies to:
- wife Dorothy Diman
- son Jonathan Diman 3rd, devised land that his father Deacon Jeremiah Diman had devised to him; to go to grandson Jonathan Diman Waldron, son of Billings Waldron 2d and Hannah his wife, should Jonathan not have heirs
- daughter Dorothy Diman
- four daughters Sarah Munro, wife of Nathaniel Munro, Betsy F. Jackson widow of Joseph Jackson, Dorothy Diman, and Hannah Waldron, wife of Billings Waldron 2d

Jonathan appears as head of a household in Bristol in the 1774 census of Rhode Island[2]. His household distribution and inferred attributions are

By the 1782 census, the household had Jonathan and Dorothy, plus three sons and three daughters all under 15.
