Jan married Aafke Berents in 1794.[1]
He died in 1812 at the age of 46, placing his birth around 1766.[2]
Name
It seems for most of his life, Jan went without a surname and only a patronymic so he would be known as Jan Gerrits[3][4][5] or Gerrijtes.[6] Jan also went by the surnames Drool[7] and Drolinga[8].
