Biography

Szczepan was born about 1814-1816.

His parents were Józef Walczak and Ewa Dulas.

Szczepan Walczak was born about 1814-1816.

In 1836 in Kalisz (Kalisz - St. Joseph Catholic Parish 52 / 1836) Szczepan Walczak married Apolonia Cicha. By the time of the marriage, both his parents were already dead. Apolonia's parents were Stanisław (father) and Teresa (mother).

After his first wife died, Szczepan Walczak married again in 1850 in Kalisz (Kalisz - St. Joseph Catholic Parish 1850), this time to Józefa Baranowska (maiden name Szymczak), who herself was a widow; her first husband's name was Tomasz Baranowski. Józefa's parents were Paweł (father) and Regina (mother).

Soon thereafter Szczepan Walczak's second wife also died.

In 1852 in Kalisz (Kalisz - St. Joseph Catholic Parish 1852) Szczepan Walczak (age 36) married again, this time to Marianna Woźniak (age 25).

It is from this third marriage that Marianna Dulas was born (around 1853).

In all three of his marriages, Szczepan's last name officially appears as Walczak and I have no idea why his daughter has used name Dulas for her marriage.

One hypothesis is that her mother was also Marianna, and she wanted to use a different family name so she has used his father's maiden name. But I have no evidence for that.
