Jacob was born in 1855. He was the son of Joseph Eberle and Mary Stemmler. He passed away in 1938.

Frank was one of six boys born to Joseph and Mary Anne Eberle and spent his boyhood in Ft. Smith, AR. He was a brother of Admiral Edward Eberle and had himself attended West Point for 3 yrs. He served in the Spanish-American War. He came to Joplin in 1896 and was employed in the news Dept. of the News Herald. Later he held positions on Portland, OR and Omaha newspapers. Mr. Eberle was publisher of the Metal Industries Journal, formerly the American Zinc, Lead and Copper Journal.He wrote for newspapers in Missouri and Texas, including the Houston Chronicle and the Brenham Banner. He attended the World's Fair several times as a reporter. Late in life he married Beatrice Shelton in June 1905 even though he was 30 yrs. her senior. He is survived by 4 children; Aline(McCuistion), Ruth(Duvall), Jean F. and Ted.
