Corporal John Edes died of bronchitis during United States Civil War.

John was born in 1837. He was the son of Isaac Edes and Lydia Stevens. ^[1][2]

In 1860 he was working as a blacksmith and living with his widowed sister. Phoebe in Shirland, Illinois. ^[3]

He married Amelia Fiske in 1862. ^[4]

Civil War

Shortly after his marriage, John enlisted with Company A, 74th Regiment, Illinois Infantry. He died of bronchitis on November 14, 1862, at a hospital in Lebanon, Kentucky. ^[5][6][7]
