Biography

Alfred was born in 1873. ^[1] He is the son of Louis Elberg and Johanna Johnson. ^[2]

His mother died (date unknown) and his father remarried when Alfred was 9 in 1882.

1895 census shows Alfred Allberg living in Minneapolis, a resident of Minnesota for the past 8 months, and working as a Liveryman. ^[3]

Alfred was still living in Minneapolis in 1913 when his father died, according to the obituary.

In 1918 Alfred Elberg was living in Virginia, Minnesota with wife Inga. Birth date on the WW I draft registration matches date from Elberg family Bible. ^[4]

Possibly living as a boarder in Vancouver, Washington in 1920. ^[5]

In 1940 Alfred lived in Coachella, California. ^[6]

Family photos believed to be of Alfred indicate he was married twice and had a daughter from the first marriage.

Died in 1952? ^[7]

Research Notes: Alfred might have gone by Alberg rather than Elberg since he was using the Alberg name after he left home in 1895

This record showing birth of son in 1901 with Auguste Wilson in Milwaukee is unrelated since records indicate father (Alfred) was born in Sweden. He was definitely born in Wisconsin. ^[8]
