Biography

Lesley was born in 1923. He was the son of Robert Elliott and Florence Wilkins. He passed away in 2010. Leslie was a Sapper in WW2 1942 - 1945

Wedding Bells

ELLIOTT—DUKES.

A wedding of interest -to the residents of Emu Plains took place at St. Paul's, Emu Plains, on October 6, when Audrey, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Dukes, of Walker's Crescent, Emu Plains, was united in marriage to Les lie, third son of Mr and Mrs. R. V. Elliott, of Parramatta. The Rev. c. M. Kemmis was the officiating clergy man. Mrs. A. Wines presided at the organ. The Church was nicely decorated by the many friends of the bride. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of magnolia satin, with bridal veil of honlton lace, which was kindly lent by Mrs H. R. Martin. She carried a bouquet of white stocks, carnations, and a sprinkle of delphiniums. A sister of the bridegroom, Miss Betty Elliott, attended as bridesmaid, and looked charming in her frock of powdered blue organdie. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and roses, The flower girl, Margaret Duncan, cousin of the bride, looked attractive in her frock of cornflower blue crepe. She carried a posy of pink carnations and roses. ' The bridegroom was attended by his brother-in-law, Mr. T. Lawrence, as best man.

During the signing of the register, Mrs. L. Eggins sweetly sang "I'll walk beside you."

The reception was held at Mrs Elsten's Cafe, Penrith, where the mother of the bride, dressed in a frock of turquoise crepe, with fawn and black accessories, assisted by the mother of the bridegroom, dressed in a frock of black and white silk rayon, with black accessories, received the guests. - The bride's travelling frock was powder blue crepe, with Air Force blue accessories The honeymoon was spent at Katoomba.
