Funeral For William Fetters, 81, Held Last Thursday Afternoon.

William Fetters, who was 81 years old last September, died at his home in Greensburg Tuesday night, May 19th, after an illness of two years. He had been bedfast fourteen weeks.

Funeral services were held at the Greensburg Christian Church, of which he had been an elder for fifty-seven years, at 2 o'clock last Thursday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. A. B. Billmann of Memphis. Interment was in the Greensburg cemetery.

Pallbearers were: William Symmonds, C. H. Brosius, O. Mallory, Roy Little, Charles Rice and Ross Myers.

Mr. Fetters was born in Knox County Sept. 24, 1860, and lived in the Greensburg community all his life.

He was married in 1883, and his wife dying in 1898. He again married Nov. 19,1898, to Sarah Hilbrant.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bert Greever, Mrs. Lester Kaser and Mrs. Charles Grady; one son, Edgar Fetters, of Edina, and one step-daughter, Mrs. H. B. Robinson. One daughter, Mrs. Nannie Boley, preceded him in death.

Obituary.

William Fetters was born in Knox County, at Greensburg, Sept. 24, 1860, and died at his home in Greensburg, Mo., of a complication of diseases May 19, 1942, after a period of declining in health of two years. He lived to be 81 years, 7 months and 25 days.

He lived his entire life in the Greensburg community and was very well known and made for himself many friends. His life was a contribution to the bigger and better things of the community. He was a member of the Christian Church uniting with it when a young man of 24 years of age, and for fifty-seven years thereafter let his light shine for Christ and the church.

He was married in 1883 to Adeline Pettie, and to this union were born four daughters. One, Mrs. Nannie Boley, having preceded him in death. His wife, his companion of fifteen years, died leaving the husband with four daughters.

In 1898 he was united in marriage to Sarah Hilbrant of Scotland County and to this union one son, Edgar, now of Edina, was born. He leaves to survive him his widow, Mrs. Sarah Fetters, three daughters, Mrs. Bert Greever and Mrs. Lester Kaser, of Baring, Mrs. Charles Grady of Olathe, Kan., a son, Edgar Fetters, of Edina, a step-daughter, Mrs. H. B. Robinson, of Greensburg and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Others surviving are: A brother, Charlie Fetters, of Greensburg, and three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Myers of Wolf Point, Mont., Mrs. Fannie Myers of Memphis, Mo., and Mrs. Ida Wishart, Baring.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday, May 21, at the Greensburg Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Billmann, pastor of the Memphis Christian Church. Burial was at Greensburg.

Honorary pallbearers were: Roy Little, Ross Myers, Charles Brosius, O. Mallory, Harry Robinson and William Symmonds. Pallbearers were: Emmett Arnold, Alva Moffett, Dale Rice, Will Myers, LeRoy Kaser and Lloyd Lancaster.

Music was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of I. D. Willows of Edina, Will Slocum, Ruth Kapfer and Mrs. LeRoy Kaser; pianist, Mrs. William Slocum. Two grandchildren, Fern Kaser and Eugene Fetters, sang his favorite song, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."

Our Parting Word to Him: Servant of God, well done! Rest from thy loved employ; The battle fought, the victory won, Enter they Master's joy.
