Elbert worked at American Steel Company for 37 years. He moved to the Capps community when he retired. He was a member of the Humphrey Creek Christian Church.[1]
He first married Mayme Opal Ahart on Sep. 24, 1926 in Miller County, Missouri.[2] They became the parents of Warren, James, Leroy Wayne, Harley Glen and Phyllis O. Elbert's wife, Mayme, died in 1971. Elbert then married Maude Cross Birdsong in 1972.
Elbert died at the age of 76 years while out hunting.[3]
