Biography

Walter Samuel Robert Flint was born on the 17th March 1864, in the newly declared Colony of Queensland, Australia, the eldest of five children born to Walter Flint and Ellen Wood.^[1] Brothers Albert Edward (1866) and an unnamed infant boy (who died at barely two days old in 1869) followed over the next few years. Later, twin sisters—Ellen Harriet and Louisa Ellen—were born on the 6th August 1873, neither surviving the year; with Ellen passing away on the 22nd November and Louisa passing away on the 9th December 1873.

Walter married Zorelda Torkington on the 29th July 1894, in Queensland.^[2]

Walter and Zorelda had three children: one son, Walter Harold (1895), and two daughters, Daisy Ethel (1898) and Ellen Esmerald (1900).

Walter Samuel Robert Flint passed away on the 8th December 1901, in Queensland, Australia, three months nine days before his 38th birthday, leaving a widow with three young children to raise alone.^[3]
