Jacob C. Fogelsong of Palmyra, Lenawee county Michigan, died April 2nd, 1905 at the age of 71 years 10 months and 5 days, after a brief illness of one week. He was born in Union district Preston county West Va. , May 27 1833. Was married to Rebecca C. Heckert November 15 1855, by this union seven children were born, three Ida, Isabell and Margaret having preceded him to the better world to await his coming. His aged wife and four children Mary, George, Nettie and Charles, also an orphan grandson William Strickland survive him and were at his bedside during his brief illness to administer to his wants as only loving hands can do. In October 1870 with his family he moved to Michigan and settled on the farm where he died. In early life he joined the Luthern [sic] church and was faithful in the study of God. A few hours before he passed away he asserted that “all will be well in the future.” He was a kind husband a loving father and a good neighbor, which was manifested by the large attendance at the funeral held at Zion church April 4 conducted by Rev. J. F. Metzler of Pioneer, Ohio.
