Biography

Filomena was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1905. Her family was from Southern Italy and they returned there shortly after her birth. From Ottaiano, Italy she immigrated to America on Christmas Eve of 1911. Along with her mom, Consiglia, sister Rosa & brother, Michael, she left Naples and arrived at Ellis Island aboard the ship ‘Madonna.” Filomena was naturalized on 15 Dec 1936 in Brooklyn, NY. She passed away in 2005.
