Biography
Charles was born in 1927. He was the son of George Friedel and Anna Keim. He passed away in 2013. He Married late in life and did not have any descendants.
Charles A. Friedel, 86, of Bushnell passed at 9:31 AM Monday September 23, 2013 at McDonough District Hospital. He was born August 29, 1927 in Hardin, IL to George and Anna (Kiem) Friedel. He married Hazel Gamble on June 15, 1974 in Bushnell, IL. She survives. Also surviving are four brothers; Pat (Sharon) Friedel of Batchtown, IL; Joseph (Juanita) Friedel of Hardin, IL; George (Agnus) Friedel of Granite City, IL; Gadriel (Linda) Friedel of Hardin, IL; one sister; Sister Mary Gabriel Friedel of Alton, IL; three sister-in-law; Melba, Ceil and Audrey Friedel. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Charles taught in the Bushnell Prairie City School District for 37 years retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church and Knight of Columbus in Hardin, IL. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Saturday September 28, 2013 at St. Bernards Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Friday September 27, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home with a prayer service at 5:00 PM. Father Dominic Vitaliano will officiate. Interment will be in the Bushnell Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Bernards Catholic Church or to the Donor's Choice.
