Carrie (Fulbright) Wray was born in Appalachia, in North Carolina.
Carrie Belle Fulbright was born on 12 May 1929 in Catawba County, North Carolina, the daughter of Troy Fulbright and Sarah Travis.[1]

Troy Fullbright (23), farmer, and his wife, Sarah (23), rented property, in household with their children, Robt Lee (2), and Carry Bell (1), and also Troy's brother, Clyde O (17), farmer. Troy, Sarah, and Clyde were able to read, write, and speak English and all in household were born in North Carolina.[2]
