Biography
John Bachman Fulmer was born on Monday, April 16, 1832, in Williams, Northampton, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Jacob Neiss Fulmer and Maria Magdalena Bachman. He was baptized at Durham Reformed Church in Durham, Bucks, Pennsylvania, on June 15, 1832.[1]
In 1850, John was living with his mother and brother David in Williams, Northampton, Pennsylvania, where he and his brother worked as butchers.[2]
At the age of 22, John married Sarah Catherine Deemer on November 30, 1854, in Williams, Northampton, Pennsylvania, when she was 19 years old. They had six children - Jacob Deemer, Anna Catherine, John Adams, William Henry, Benjamin Franklin, and Sarah Elizabeth.
In July 1863, he registered for the Civil War draft in Williams, Northampton, Pennsylvania, listing his occupation as farmer.[3]
From 1860 to 1880, John and Sarah and their children (and in 1860, John's mother) were farmers in Williams, Northampton, Pennsylvania.[4][5][6]
John died in Bethlehem, Northampton, Pennsylvania, on July 9, 1891, at the age of 59. He was buried at Durham Cemetery in Durham, Bucks, Pennsylvania.[7][8]
