John married Christian Riccard the daughter and sole heiress of Sir Andrew Riccard, the Governor of the East India Company, at St Olave's Church in London on the 22nd of April 1655.
John bought the title to the manor of Stoke Poges in Buckinghamshire in 1656. [1]
John died in November or December 1657. When he wrote his Will dated the 14th of November 1657, he made substantial provision for the child which Christian was carrying at the time. If the child was male, he was to inherit all John's estate. If female, she was to inherit £12,000. Christian herself was to inherit £10,000 as her jointure.
His will was proved by his executor, his elder brother Robert Gayer on the 13th of January 1657/8. [2]
John's son was born after his death and was named John after his father. He was baptised at St Olave's Hart Street Church, London on the 7th of May 1658. [3].
John Geare junior did not survive childhood, and under the terms of his father's Will, the manor of Stoke Poges passed to his uncle Robert Geare. [1]
