Biography
According to the 1861 England Census, Mary Gibbons was born in Ireland, around 1841. Mary's burial record confirms that birth year. Her father was Henry Gibbons, and her mother was Bridget. They came to England before Mary was 10 years old. The 1901 Census gives Mary's birthplace as Longford, Ireland.
Mary Gibbons married George Collier in 1864, and the marriage was registered at Chorlton, Lancashire. Their son Matthew Collier was born at Kearsley, Lancashire (the last of at least five children), in 1878. Mary Collier was buried at Ringley, St Saviour, Lancashire, on 1 Dec 1909.
