Son of Oliver Leonard Gilson (1771–1843) and Mary Polly Leonard (1771–1853).

Leonard Gilson married Miriam Baker in 1824 in Windham, Vermont.

  2. Willard Baker Gilson (1827–Deceased).
  3. Julliette M. Gilson (1830–1836).
  4. Sarah Ann Gilson (1835–1917).
