Elizabeth E. "Libbie," or "Lizzie" Gilson was born around 1861 in Ansonville, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Michael Gilson and Mary Gilligan.
She moved with her parents from Clearfield County to Iowa between 1868 and 1870. [Based on location of birth of her siblings.]
She married Charles E. Dougherty (1860-1905), a saloon keeper.
"Lizzie" had two children: Mary Edda Dougherty and Grace Edith Horn.
