Biography

Sarah Gilson was born on 18 January 1757, in Pepperell, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay, to Lt. Samuel Gilson and Elizabeth Shedd.

She married first, John Brown, born 1752, in Townsend, Massachusetts. a son of Ephriam Brown and Eunice Exercise Jewett. He died in July 1804, in Stoddard, New Hampshire, less than a year after the birth of their fifth child, Lucy.

She married second, John Greene, a Hessian mercenary hired by the British to fight in the American Revolution. There were no children from this marriage.

She died on 13 November 1848, a widow of her second husband, and was buried in the Brown Family Cemetery, Stoddard, Cheshire, New Hampshire, USA.^[1]

Sarah and John had the following children:
