Biography

John Gilson was born on 2 March 1698 in Groton, Massachusetts. His parents were John Gilson and Sarah (Blood) Gilson Warner.

John married Mary Shattuck on 8 December 1722[1]. Their children, all born Groton, were as follows:

1. Mary, born 17 November 1723; married James Blood
2. John, born 12 May 1726
3. David, born 7 May 1728; died 1 September 1728
4. Jonathan, born 26 August 1729
5. Jeremiah, born 1 August 1731; died 22 October 1731
6. David, born 7 December 1732; married Annis Gilson
7. Amasa, born 25 August 1735
8. Solomon, born 17 July 1737
9. Sarah, born 22 December 1743[2]

John passed away on 17 November 1753 and is buried in Old Burying Ground in Groton, Massachusetts[3].
