From the "Appleton Post," WI, April 21, 1881, p. 5,

On Saturday evening last, [April 16, 1881] while engaged at work, Mr. Samuel Gilson, dropped dead in his tracks. For some time past the deceased had been engaged in the Riverside mill, and left that establishment about 5 o'clock, with a load of wood, for his residence. While assisting to unload the wood he fell to the ground and expired instantly. Mr. Gilson was a victim of heart disease. He leaves a wife and a grown up family, besides many friends to mourn his sudden death. The deceased was a man esteemed by all who knew him.
