Edna- Last rites said for Archie Quinn Funeral services for Archie M Quinn were held Saturday march 21, at 2 p.m. at Slavick's Funeral Home Chapel with Brother H.E. Peterson of the First Assembly of God Church officiating. Mr. Quinn Succumbed March 19, 1970 in a Houston hospital. He was born June 5, 1886 in Waxahachie and lived in Jackson County for many years. He was a retired farmer and rancher and served as deputy sheriff for five years in the late 1920's under the late Sheriff Hugh L. White. He is survived by nine living children, Lee Roy of Refugio, G.A. Quinn of El Campo, Arnold & Travis Quinn of Houston, Betha Mayer and Faye Sanford of Houston, Dorothy Tompkins, Jewell Schneider and Myrtle Goode all of Edna. Pallbearers were Troy Quinn, Charles Tompkins, Roger Sanford, Norris Mayer and Lawrence Walker.

Funeral services for Mrs. Artie Mae Quinn of Houston were held Sunday, Dec. 21 at 2p.m. from the Slavick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. H.E. Peterson of the First Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial was in the Edna Cemetery under the direction of Slavick Funeral Home. Mrs. Quinn passed away Friday December 19 1969 in a Houston hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Quinn was b. December 23, 1890 in Woodbury, Kentucky and was a resident of Jackson County until 1948. Survivors include her husband Archie Quinn of Houston: four sons, Arnold & Travis of Houston, Lee Roy of Refugio and G.A. of El Campo: five daughters ; Mrs.. Bertha Mayer and Mrs. Faye Sanford of Houston, Mrs. Dorothy Tompkins, Mrs. Jewell Schneider and Mrs. Myrtle Goode all of Edna. 43 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gary Quinn, George Tompkins, Roger Sanford, Dale Quinn, Lawrence Walker and Charlie Amey
