James Stanley Grady was born on 7 May 1857 at Bywong Station via Gundaroo, New South Wales, Australia ^[1], the son of James Grady and Jane Clark and his siblings were Catherine Grady, Mary Grady, Bridget Grady and Stephen Thomas Grady.

He married Maria Moore on 20 December 1879 at Queanbeyan, New South Wales, Australia ^[2] and his children were Ernest Walter Grady, Florence Mabel Ellen (Grady) Woodman, Reuben Australia Grady, Ethel Gladys Grady, William James Grady, Amy Beatrice Grady and Henry (Harry) Arthur Grady.

James passed away on 16 July 1924 at Narrandera, New South Wales, Australia ^[3][4] and he was buried in the Narrandera Cemetery Narrandera, New South Wales, Australia ^[5].
