Biography

Ignazia Grizzaffi is a Corleone native resident, the daughter of Giuseppe Grizzaffi and Antonia Puccio. I have estimated she is born around 1749, the year after her parents marry.

Ignazia marries Andrea Palazzo on 27 April 1768. Her father has died by this time, and her mother is living.

Ignazia and Andrea have at least three children: Liboria (1770), Rosalia (c. 1773), and Vincenzo (1775).

Liboria Maria is born and baptized 11 January 1770. Her godparents are Maestro Giuliano Amore and Vita, wife of Maestro Antonino Musca.^[1]

Rosalia is born around 1773, based on her reported age at death.

Vincenzo is born and baptized 22 July 1775, named after his paternal grandfather. His godparents are his great uncle Maestro Matteo and Anna Firreri, a married couple. (Anna is her sister's name, married to Matteo's brother, also a maestro. Matteo is married to Giovanna.)^[2]

Liboria marries at least twice, first to Leoluca Colletto, on 10 January 1785. Her parents have died by this time.

Rosalia marries Emmanuele Maniscalco on 8 June 1788.

Liboria is widowed and remarries on 17 May 1802 to Maestro Vincenzo Governali.

Rosalia dies at age 36 (b. 1773) on 7 January 1809. Her husband marries only eight days later.

Liboria dies at age 47 on 31 October 1817. Her second husband, Maestro Vincenzo, survives her.
