Elizabeth Jane Harfield, daughter of Daniel Harfield and Sarah Vickery, ^[1] was born in about November 1877 in Portsea, Hampshire. ^[2][3]

On 3 April 1881 in Fratton Street, Portsea, Hampshire, with her father Daniel Harfield, her stepmother Annie Harfield and her siblings Mary A. Harfield aged 16, Sarah Harfield aged 10, Ada Houghton aged 7 and Harry Houghton aged 4. ^[3]
