Johann was born in 1743 in Stomberg, Germany, the son of Johann Nicholas Hartman and Maria Jacobina Daubestiel.[1] He emigrated to Philadelphia, arriving 26 Oct 1768, on board the ship Crawford. He passed away in 1825 in Bucks Co. and was buried at Tohickon Cemetery, Bedminster, Bucks Co., PA.[2]
