Biography

Stanley was born in 1886 and was registered in Monmouth, the district covering the Forest of Dean. ^[1] In 1891 Stanley was living with his parents, Frank (Richard) and Eliza and siblings in Yorkley. His father was a Coal Miner. ^[2] In 1911 he lived with his family in 'Sunnyside' Yorkley and was a Haulier. ^[3]

On 9 June 1929 he married Tressa May Wintour in St Briavels. He was listed as being from Woolaston and a Farmer. His brother Albert was a witness. ^[4]

The couple had 2 daughters: Yvonne and Valerie. ^[5]

Stanley died aged 52 on 16 July 1939 at Gloucester Hospital. Probate went to his widow May (Tressa) and Farmer Arnold Charles Wintour. His effects exceeded £1,735. His last address was listed as Hunt court, Badgeworth. ^[6] He was buried at Viney Hill on July 21st. ^[7]
