Allen was born in 1920. He was the son of Matthew Henderson. He passed away in 2001.
HENDERSON, Allen Parker - 80, Camden, Colchester County, died after a very courageous battle with cancer, Thursday February 22, 2001, surrounded by his family and friends in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Upper Stewiacke, he was a son of the late Matthew and Ella ( Miller) Henderson. He was a well known dairy farmer, cattle dealer, and worked in the woods most of his life. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas with the Blackwatch. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Vera Bailey; daughter, Heather Tooker and husband David, Camden; son, John Henderson and companion Janet Simmons, New Germany; three grandchildren, Aeron, Brad, Adrian; sisters, Ruby Jennings, London, Ont.; Elizabeth Lynds, Truro; brothers, Ralph, Camden; Clyde, Ontario. He was predeceased by a son, Matthew; infant daugher, Linda; two sisters, Rhoda Dean and Jean Reid. Visitation 2-4, 7-9pm today, funeral service 2pm Sunday, all in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, Rev. Lloyd Burrows officiating. Spring burial in Camden Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Assocation, Harmony Camden United Church or a charity of choice.
