Inverell Times (NSW : 1899 - 1907, 1909 - 1942, 1952 - 1954), Monday 21 March 1938, WEDDING McGUFFICKE— HEUSTON. St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Inverell, was beautifully decorated with pale-pink roses, Easter daisies, and asparagus-fern, when Jean Mary, only daughter of Mr. Heuston, of 'Redbournberry, Singleton, and the late Mrs. Heuston, was joined in the holy bonds of matrimony to Wilfred, youngest son of Mrs. McGufficke, of Inverell, and the late Mr. McGufficke, on Wednesday evening last. Rev. Arthur Edmunds was the officiating minister. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was attired in a long gown of bridal satin, cut on slimming, classical lines, with long train and veil or white tulle. The veil was embroidered with medallions and was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms. The veil was kindly lent by Mrs. A. A. Anderson, of Clarence River. The bride carried a bouquet of delicate, shaded roses, asters, carnations, and forming trailers mounted with white tulle and satin streamers. The bride was attended by Miss Madge Shaw, who chose a frock of pink triumphant crepe, over white, with long Redingote coat of pink silk lace, forming a train. Her headdress was a coronet of tulle, with a bandeau of pink velvet flowers. She carried a bouquet or Tawney dahlias, tied with pink tulle and satin streamers, Mr. Les. Heuston, brother of the bride, carried out the duties of best man, whilst Mr. Ray Pigott and Mr. Jack Boland acted as ushers in the church. Mrs. Simpson, who presided at the organ, rendered appropriate music, the ceremony being fully choral. Miss Hilda Digby was soloist. The bouquets of the bride and bridesmaid were the handiwork of Mrs. Les. Campbell of 'Dunmallard,' Inverell. The reception was held at Lundie's Cafe, where Mrs. Heuston (step-mother of the bride) and Mrs. McGufficke, mother of the groom, received about 50 guests. Mrs. Heuston chose an ensemble of pale saxe crepe de chine, with black accessories. She carried a bouquet of pink roses, tied with blue tulle. Mrs. Gufficke wore a frock of navy La Rene crepe, hat and shoes to tone, and carried a bouquet of dark-red roses tied with green tulle. When leaving for the honeymoon, which is being spent in a motor tour of the Northern Rivers and North Coast, the bride travelled in a frock of navy georgette, Redingote coat over blue floral satin, with navy accessories. Mr. and Mrs. McGufflcke's future home will be in Inverell. The bride's gift to the groom was a pair of suitably-engraved gold sleeve links, the bridegroom to the bride a gold wristlet watch, and the bride-groom to the bridesmaid a set of crystals.
